I think this DACs, DSD DAC, they do better with acoustic music, like folk, Jazz and classical, you mainly review with electronic music, which is where they don't particularly shine. Regarding the high, price, I totally agree.

Wild that two companies with the acronym of DCS is independently threatening reviewers.

I've lived my whole life without dCS. I can live the rest of my liife without them too. I read the apology. What a load of horse shit. Asshole calling the shots can't reach out himself until shit hits the fan. And no matter how he tries to word it, they tried to intimidate people with lawyers. They got rid of one person, but it certainly sounds like this was more than one person.

How ironic, there is another company that goes by DCS (Deep Cycle Systems) suing a RUclipsr for a negative, but factual, review of one of their batteries. Louis Rossman did a video covering it.

I think that this is for someone not using a steamer. Instead of using a Hermes at a $1k us, I would have used the Iris at $499 US. You can find them under $400 US. It will only do USB to I2S and does a great job of doing it. For the other digital connections, I have an external 10m clock that works wonders with my DAC.

So dCS excuse is a common "sorry we have a rogue employee". Well, idk, I heard that one too many times for me to be skeptical of such excuses. And the guy's VP of marketing for pete's sake, he's pretty much up there in the core ranks of the company, not some *random* employee. If the leadership is bad, it's more likely to be permeated down to the company's culture. So yeah, their apology and excuse don't really fly in my ears. Or even if that's the truth, the implications is far worse if such action were deemed normal by the leadership at the time. How many others got sued before someone actually fought back? Is this how dCS does business all these time? etc.

You should give the lawsuit itself a review, (I assume) a negative review.

Cant you go from single ended to xlr with just a cable?, I know from xlr to rca no, but it shuld be ok from rca to xlr, and qutest does have variable output voltage

Bartol is THE BEST dac/amp I ever hard in my life, and I did many, many..... Never tried it via external system, though, but only with headphones such are HD 800s and Focal Utopia.

I do not often see videos which are pure and utter nonsense. But this one is. The spdif and the usb interfaces have error detection integrated. They will not deliver an invalid data stream to the DAC. Noise on a data line can cause problems but usually you recognize that by drops in the audio presentation or by connectivity rejection (no sound - full stop) and not by noise on the analogue side. Since the cable length and quality is good these days, you usually have however not problems or drops.

The equivalent of making bad decisions your whole life and then suing your kindergarten teacher for it who did nothing wrong.
